I’m in Pain or Have Discomfort

Are You Having Dental Pain and Discomfort?

Most of the time, when patients are having a hard time chewing, we're seeing periodontal disease, missing teeth, ill fitting dentures, so many things that it can be. When they're telling us they're having a hard time, with a good exam, we can pretty much uncover what it is that's not working. Very often, with a patient, they know what they feel that isn't right, but they don't know exactly why it's happening or what the cause is. The patients come in, and been wearing a certain type of denture for a long period of time, and don't realize that that denture doesn't fit anymore. It doesn't work. They thought something else was going on, not to mention teeth that are infected, teeth that are no longer functioning properly.

Getting at the cause of what it is that's keeping them from chewing comfortably, eating food comfortably, and that's the whole point of a good consultation and a good examination. We believe that so much here, that we pretty much do consultations with the needed X-rays and don't even charge the patients, most of time, because we can't answer the questions without enough information, and we're not so sure, always, that you should have to pay to have a doctor tell you what's wrong with you. You know there's something wrong. We're happy to do exams, very often, without even charging the patient, just to be able to speak with them and explain what we can do, and that they like us, and like what we're saying. We love to have them as patients.

Sometimes, pain can be a good thing. It can motivate us to do something different, or just tell us not to keep doing something that could cause a serious injury. But most of the time, pain is a bad thing. That’s especially true for pain in your teeth or jaw. You don’t need to suffer through toothaches. Our Leesburg, VA dentist can help with emergency care, root canals, and implants to help relieve pain in your mouth.

Same-Day Appointments For Emergencies

Accidents and injuries happen despite your best efforts to avoid them. No one can plan for every emergency, but at our Leesburg, VA dental office, we can help. We can normally see you on the same day you call with a dental emergency, so call us at 703-297-4353 if you’re in a lot of pain, have a broken tooth, or have one that was knocked loose or out. If we are closed for the day, you’ll be given a special after-hours number to call to get the help you need fast.

Root Canals For Inflamed Teeth

Inside of each tooth is dental pulp. This is home to blood vessels and, more important, all of the nerve endings for your teeth. Unfortunately, accidents and similar trauma can cause some of the pulp to become inflamed and create a powerful toothache. To save the tooth and bring down the inflammation, our dentists can perform root canal therapy. We enter the tooth and remove the inflamed part of the pulp, then seal the tooth with a dental crown. And despite their reputation, root canals are no more painful than getting a filling.

Dental Implants For Replacing Teeth

If we can’t get to a damaged or infected tooth in time, you might lose it. In fact, tooth extractions are sometimes done because that’s the only way left to keep you pain-free. Rather than deal with a gap in your smile and have trouble eating, we can replace the missing tooth with a dental implant.

There’s no reason you should have to deal with pain in your mouth, not when we have the treatments to relieve the pain. For more information on our emergency services, or to schedule your next appointment, call our Leesburg, Va dentist office today at 703-297-4353 or use our convenient online form.
